Pregnancy is a time of enormous change, and while it can be an exciting experience, it isn’t always an easy one.

At Elsternwick Acupuncture, we have over 22 years of clinical experience in women’s health, fertility and pregnancy care. We offer pregnancy acupuncture in Melbourne, caring for women from the early weeks of pregnancy through to birth preparation and postpartum recovery.

We understand that every pregnancy is different. We take the time to understand your medical history, current symptoms and any concerns you may have, providing acupuncture that takes your individual circumstances into account.

Acupuncture During Pregnancy

Women visit our Elsternwick clinic at different stages of pregnancy for concerns including:

Birth Preparation Acupuncture

As you approach the final weeks of pregnancy, you may wish to include acupuncture as part of your preparation for birth.

We offer pre birth and labour induction acupuncture appointments, taking into account your pregnancy history, how you’re feeling and your obstetric care. We suggest commencing around 35 weeks. We’ll also discuss what the current evidence does and doesn’t tell us about acupuncture in late pregnancy.

Postpartum Acupuncture & Recovery

The weeks after giving birth can be just as demanding as pregnancy itself.

We provide postpartum acupuncture in Melbourne, with appointments tailored to concerns such as physical discomfort, fatigue, stress and sleep difficulties following vaginal or caesarean birth.

We also consider nutrition, recovery and the many demands of caring for a newborn.
